Hannaford Supermarkets made a generous donation of $25,000 in April. Those funds are being distributed to farmers across the state, helping them recover from historic flooding and extreme weather and prepare for a successful growing season. In addition, they’re promoting the campaign across their Vermont stores, where shoppers can donate cash or scan the QR code to make an online donation. Thank you, Hannaford!

Farmers say…

“I want to thank you

This spring has brought many challenges – from repairing flood damages to my cornfield, to getting crops and seeds ready and start all over again. Just to give you an idea of what this $1800 cold do for me:  It could buy 2 weeks of cow grain, it could pay my help for one week, it could feed my calves for 37 weeks.  Thank you for helping me as I continue to ‘plug along’!”

Sincerely, Peggy Ainsworth

Catastrophic flooding, extreme weather, and crippling rains have left many of Vermont’s family farms on the edge of financial ruin. Losses are estimated to be nearly $45 million across the state. Our family farms are the life’s blood of our communities, restaurants, markets, and very way of life. Donate, today, to help restore Vermont’s family farms.

Vermont farmers are trying to save their family farms from catastrophic floods and extreme weather.

Our family farmers say….

“…this (is an) existential crisis our farm is facing.”

“It’s very stressful. I’m not sure I can continue.”

“I’m at least 6,000 bales behind on production.”

“I’ve lost two generators, four freezers, an ice maker….”

“We lost all our newly seeded root crops for market sales.”
